Perhaps one of the most evocative wells in the area, it now lies rather neglected and overgrown at the side of a busy modern dairy farmyard. A fully grown hawthorn trees sprouts from the top of the rubble well house and inside the walls and water are stained. On the inside wall, a small relief carving of a headless lady stands facing the door and the light. This was the site of one the cannon chapels associated with St Nectan's Celtic foundation at nearby Stoke, Hartland Listed in the Devon Sites and Monuments Register but deserves more.
